Since I upgraded to the new version of ViEmu (took me a while) I have encountered a very frustrating bug. My favorite command "." now ignores anything I did with the "Delete" key. It seems to work with everything else but I use Delete all the time since it's the only way to Delete while in insert mode.

Visual mode difference between 2008 and 2010

Few annoying differences between vs 2008 and 2010:

I don't have 2008 at home so can't test exactly but, I have esc bound to jj and going into visual mode to select lines with V and then immediately moving downwards with j works in 2008 while in 2010 there's a 1 sec delay between each movement. Probably to check for a binding. Going V then j j to select two lines doesn't in 2010, it just exists visual mode. Can this be to work like in 2008?

Selecting lines with V and pressing Ctrl+K, Ctrl+C to comment out those lines works in 2008 but in 2010 it only comments the last selected line. Probably other actions on selected text behaves the same way too.

In general the 2010 version of viemu seems a bit weaker. Like I mentioned above I have esc bound to jj and I notice a huge difference when it comes to switching from input to normal mode with jj. More often than not in 2010 the binding isn't respected and instead I end up inserting new characters while in 2008 that never seems to happen.

VS2010 - Occasionally a mouse double click selection yank deletes.

Hi.

Intermittently I've noticed that when making a selection with the mouse, usually by double clicking on a word, i then go to yank the word with 'y', only to have it replace my selection with y, instead of yanking.

This is intermittent and presumably dependent on some sort of timing, as sometimes this works fine. If i undo this incorrect replace and repeat the same actions it usually works ok the 2nd time.

Not done too often, and easy enough to work around. But thought i'd let you know.

As with all my posts, I have Visual Assist installed too, though in this case i'd hope that to not be relevant.

Cheers

ViEmu on vs2010 loses focus after exiting insert mode

This is a very strange problem which is only happening on one system. I have ViEmu installed on a laptop and desktop for vs2010 and both were working fine until I had to re-build my desktop system. After reinstalling vs2010 (and SP1) and Resharper, dotCover, ProPowerTools and ViEmu (all of which were installed before) on the rebuilt system I have very strange behavior.

Upon starting vs2010 and opening a solution, I can navigate just fine. However, once I make any change in the editor and press Esc to exit insert mode, here is what happens:

- Insert mode is exited
- Everything looks okay so far
- Any non-control characters typed from this point on do not navigate or get inserted
- For each character typed, a number appears at the bottom next to "-- NORMAL --"
- For instance, if I press "j" 5 times to move down 5 lines, this is what it might look like:
 -- NORMAL --23456
- No matter what I type, the numbers count up to 9 and continue again with 0, 1, etc.
- The really bad part is that ViEmu interprets the numbers shown as a count, so if I follow with a RETURN, ViEmu assumes I wanted to do the RETURN action (Next line) for instance, 23,456 times given the example above.
- At this point vs2010 is so busy I can't do anything further.
- If I press ESC instead, the numbers clear (as does the count) and the process starts over again with further typing.

If I disable ViEmu, whether in this mode or not, everything works fine again except that I don't have ViEmu of course. Re-enabling ViEmu brings back the problem immediately.

Since this only happens on one machine (both are Windows 7, x64, Intel, all up to date) I don't know what to think about it. I am hoping you at least have some suggestion as to what direction I might look. Uninstalling and reinstalling vs2010 didn't help. Nor did uninstalling and reinstalling ViEmu. Nor did removing _viemurc.

Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks.

ViEmu/Visual Assist complete-as-you-type

I've just started at a new company and got myself set up; I'm running VS2010 Premium with ViEmu 2.5.14 and Visual Assist X build 1850. I've run VS2010 with ViEmu and VA-X before, with no issues, but this time around it seems ViEmu is somehow breaking VA's complete-as-you-type suggestion lists - that is, when I type the first character of a symbol, I get a suggestion list, but when I continue to type, that last is not refined or updated unless I press Ctrl-Space. Disabling ViEmu makes suggestion lists work as expected, but obviously my editor becomes unusable to me and my code becomes littered with Vi commands

(I'm using it to edit C#, but the same thing happens for C++ too)

Has anyone else seen anything like this? Any suggestions as to how to make it work again?

Can't get ctrl-r to insert registers in insert/ex mode

I can't seem to get ctrl-r to work. According to http://www.viemu.com/viemu_doc.html I should be able to do this:

'In insert and command line editing mode, you can use Ctrl-R followed by a register specifier to recall the contents of that register (use " or any other non-alphanumeric symbol after Ctrl-R to recall the contents of the default register). '

This doesn't seem to work for me at all - if I type ctrl-r and then " in insert mode, I just get a " inserted. I've tried removing the key-binding for redo, but that just stops redo from working in command mode without getting ctrl-r to work in insert or ex mode.

I have Resharper installed, but I tried disabling it and it made no difference.

Should this work? Any suggestions?
